For the 6th year running UPP brought home the gold at the annual Flexographic Technical Association of South Africa (FTA SA) awards held at Emperors Palace.
The (FTA SA) hosts the annual awards event celebrating excellence in the flexographic print industry in South Africa. Any manufacturer in the flexographic print industry can submit their entries with products of their choosing, into one of the categories ranging from self-adhesive labels to flexible packaging, and paper products. Judging is done by a panel of industry experts with focus drawn on world-class execution and innovative print techniques.
Our superior quality Dinu Designer Napkins received a Gold award, the highest accolade, in the category for line/tone printing on an uncoated substrate. Judges commended the Dinu Funky Twirl Designer Napkin for ‘a well-printed, intricate design, with lots of detail and interesting colour combinations’.
The UPM Gold Eagle Certificate Napkin received a silver award. The napkin was printed specifically for the Gold Eagle Grand Opening Event that was held at UPM in September 2017. The judging panel noted that ‘the printing is so good that the napkin is used as a certificate and framed with pride.’
The Woolworths Leaf Design Napkin received a gold award in the uncoated line/tone category. The judges commented that the ‘quality of printing on such a difficult substrate always surprises’ them.
Our Dinu Polka Dots Designer Napkins were awarded a silver award. The judges were intrigued by the hammered metal surface effect created by using a combination of standard and metallic inks for the background.
