UPP celebrated yet another year of success in 2019 thanks to the amazing staff in our arsenal! We held a belated UPP Award Ceremony in January where a total of 40 awards were handed over to congratulate and reward individuals for their hard work and dedication. The awards stem from our company values:
Integrity: awarded to employees whose character and honesty have stood the test of time. This award is an appreciation of those who always do the right thing.
Commitment: recognised as consistently going above and beyond what is required and demonstrating loyalty in the workplace.
Empowerment: this award recognises employees who push their limits and make efforts to improve themselves and their department, co-workers, or the company as a whole
Excellence: employees deserving of this award are those who drive innovation and exceed expectations.
Over and above these awards, we have the Housekeeping award that is awarded to the department that has the highest score in safety practices, cleanliness and tidiness; as well as the Health and Safety award that is given to the department that has gone to great lengths to implement better safety practices to reduce injuries and accidents.
The final two awards are the People’s Choice award – which is awarded to the employee that his or her peers have recognised as going far beyond the call of duty throughout the year; and the Sam Phillip Sher award – that is the most prestigious award at UPP – and awarded to the employee that has embodied all the values of the company and excels in his or her role.
