UPP once again raked in the prizes for the 7th year running bringing home 2 golds and 1 silver at the annual FTA SA Awards that took place at Emperors Palace on the 22nd of November this year.
The FTA SA (Flexographic Technical Association of South Africa) hosts the awards event celebrating excellence in the flexographic print industry in South Africa. Any manufacturer in the flexographic print industry can submit their entries with products of their choosing, into one of the categories ranging from self-adhesive labels to flexible packaging and paper products. Judging is done by a panel of industry experts with focus drawn on world-class execution and innovative print techniques.
Our new Dinu Designer African Ladies napkin design took gold in the paper products category for line/tone printing on an uncoated substrate. The judges admired the fine detail of the job, singling out, “the delicate lines and shapes giving this ethnic design a full process colour look,” and also noting that, “register was particularly challenging.”
The Dinu Mazaltov napkin received a silver award for line/tone printing on an uncoated substrate, the judges praised, “this simple yet clever design, executed with crisp and precise sharpness.”
In the paper products category for process printing on an uncoated substrate, the new Dinu Sundeck Summer napkin was awarded gold.
“The judges were struck by the brilliant colours and fresh design executed with a combination of unusual process colours.”
